During the first part of the 1900's, Epiphone seemed to be among the small number of guitar producers to take jazz music seriously and so they launched the Sheraton, a hollow-body guitar with f-holes which enabled guitarists to make music as loudly as they wanted minus the feedback they were obtaining with various other electric guitars. Then going to 2002 and the introduction of the Epiphone Elitist Sheraton guitar and Epiphone did the unlikely. They made the Sheraton even better.

Eventually the first Epiphone Sheraton guitar was supplanted in attention by the Gibson ES-355 that was as well unveiled in nineteen thirty, notwithstanding that there were many well-known jazz guitarists who continued to sing it's praises.
